Where can I find a homemade-all-natural conditioner recipe?

That I can pre-make use on a daily basis, without using perishables like eggs, avocado and mayo?

Try honey, olive oil, buttermilk, and non-bleached flour. The honey will be the conditioner and the flour is to make it a paste so you can put it in your hair. There are more at hairboutique.com, something like that. You can search for “honey for hair” and it’ll bring up some natural hair recipe sites. I’ve done the whole thing once and it was conditioning, but not enough for my hair. I’ve also used honey by itself and mixed with olive oil and it’s made my hair shiny and brought out my natural brown highlights that I haven’t seen in about a year.

what do avocado masks do

what do avocado masks do
what do avocado masks do
what are good ingredients for avocado mask?

What i am thinking about putting into a mask is

avocado
sunflower oil

now im thinking since salt softens the skin,
would it be a good idea to add salt?

Don’t use the sunflower oil. Oil isn’t the best thing to put on your skin.
The avocado has all the oil you need.

A good mask would be:

Avocado
Salt
Baking powder/Bicarbonate of soda (Unblocks pores)
Lemon juice (If added with bicard of soda or baking powder, the mixture will fiz up.. alot. Don’t cover the mixture until the fizing stops.)

I am on a strict raw fruits and veggies diet can I still lose weight eating 2 avocados a day?

I pretty much am only eating organic bananas and pears and salads w/ nothing but veggies in it. Avocados are the only thing keeping me from starving and going crazy. So will two a day still provide me with the results im looking for?
Im 5′5 135 lbs and im trying to lose 15 pounds by memorial day weekend which is in about 6 weeks

That sounds good!
Just limit your calories to about 1200 intake or 1000 if you don’t exercise.

You will lose weight doing this, 1-2 pounds a week.
So your gonna lose between 6-12 pounds, not 15.
But you will lose weight!
So go for it :)

avocado when ripe

how do yo tell if an avocado is ripe?

give it a squeeze. If it’s very firm it’s not ripe yet. If there is just a little put of give then it’s perfect and if it’s mushy it’s starting to go bad. This is pretty much the only way to tell without opening it. If you open it and the flesh is tough then it’s not ripe and if it’s turning brown it’s over ripe.

Avocado tree cuttings for planting?

I have a massive avocado tree which has a small tree growing out of it from the bottom (the trunk). Is it possible to clip this somehow and plant it in the ground? Or will it die?

Getting them from air layering or the rooting of cuttings has never worked, sorry to say. A lot of people around the world have tried, but no joy. Any tree for fruit production is always grafted onto root stock. I’m a long time avocado grower and have friends who do it commercially, anyone who tells you different is guessing or very ill informed.

When it comes to keeping oneself beautiful, skin would be at the forefront of everyone’s concern. Being the first thing we lay our eyes on every time we behold someone visually, it cannot be avoided that seeing blemished or flawed skin would be a sight that can make anyone’s eyes sore. For this reason, people are willing to go through arduous lengths, even to the point of boring holes through their own pockets, just so that they can keep their skins looking pristine and as near perfect as possible. To serve this purpose, beauty purveyors always see to it that the shelves of beauty and health stores worldwide are well-stocked with a wide variety of every kind of beauty skin emollient available.

But beautiful skin need not break the bank. Using beauty products is not the only means whereby you could attain and maintain healthy skin. Just like your overall health, what you absorb from within would directly impact your system, manifesting positive results that could readily be seen from the outside. And this can only happen through the nutrients you get from the foods you eat on a regular basis.

If your body is not properly nourished, the first indications would be evident on your skin. It mirrors both the positive and adverse effects of anything you take into our system. But even if it stands to reason that anything that can be good for your body would automatically be good for your skin, scientific researches have confirmed that there are exceptional vitamins that do more wonders for your skin than others. So, if you are head bent on achieving great looking skin, loading up on these wondrous vitamins is the first step to make good skin care happen for you naturally.

  1. Vitamin C

Probably, the most popular vitamin of all times, good old Vitamin C does not only keep the colds away. Abundantly found in all citrus fruits and a great number of vegetables, Vitamin C helps reduce skin damage due to free radicals.

  1. Vitamin E

Working in the same fashion as Vitamin C, Vitamin E is a very potent antioxidant capable of diminishing the harmful effects of sun exposure to your skin. It is known to help keep your skin young and well-nourished. Top food choices rich in Vitamin E include wheat germ oil, sunflower seeds, almonds, spinach, prunes, peaches, tomatoes, cabbages, and avocados.

  1. Vitamin A

A major component needed by your body to repair skin tissue, Vitamin A helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and helps stave off break outs like acne. Moreover, it can lower your risk of acquiring psoriasis, a skin disorder characterized by red, scaly patches. Popular sources of Vitamin A include carrot, liver, cantaloupe, chili peppers, spinach, kale, and sweet potatoes.

  1. Vitamin K

Used topically, Vitamin K is especially beneficial in diminishing dark under eye circles and bruises.

  1. Vitamin B Complex

Where skin is concerned, Biotin is the only B vitamin responsible. Functioning as the basis of the cells found in your hair, skin, and nails; a serious lack of it could eventuate into dermatitis or hair loss. In fact, even less severe cases would be enough to cause a certain degree of damage. It is found in common foods like eggs, rice, oatmeal, and bananas.

Have you been avoiding avocados because you’ve heard that they are high in fat? Well, it’s time to take another look at the avocado. Creamy, soft and delicious, avocados are rich in heart healthy monounsaturated fat, packed with 20 vitamins and minerals and low in calories. When you consider all of the nutritional benefits and think of all of the great ways they can be served, surely you will agree that avocados deserve a place at your table.

Heart-healthy fat?

Avocados have taken a beating because of their high fat content – In some circles they are known as a “butter pear”. Avocados do contain 30 grams of fat, but the fat in avocados is monounsaturated, the good fat recommended by the American Heart Association. Recent studies have shown that people eating an avocado a day for a week can lower blood cholesterol by as much as 17%, raise HDL or good cholesterol levels and lower LDL or bad cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Avocados, nuts and olives are the only plant foods that contain monounsaturated fat. A serving of avocado is 1 ounce – 2 tablespoons or about one-sixth of an avocado, and contains 5 grams of fat and 55 calories. But when you compare that to butter, cheese or mayonnaise, all weighing in at around 200 calories and 22 grams of fat per 2-tablespoon serving, avocados look pretty good. Plus, avocados are a delicious replacement for cheese and butter on sandwiches, in salads, on toast and with spicy foods.

20 Vitamins and Minerals

Avocados bring 20 vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients to the table, making them a nutritional superstar. Naturally rich in their own right and full of vitamin E, vitamin C, folate and beta-carotene, avocados are also known to be a nutrient-booster, helping the body to absorb more of the nutrients in other foods when they are eaten with avocados.

How Do I Know When It’s Ripe?

Look for firm, slightly soft avocados. They tend to be more black then green when they are ripe. Avocados don’t start to ripen until after they are picked, so often hard avocados are all that is available. If they are hard when you buy them, put them in a paper sack for a day or two and let them ripen. Don’t store uncut avocados in the fridge, keep them on the counter on in a sunny window and use them within a day or two.

To store half of an avocado, replace the seed and store in an airtight bag or re-useable plastic container in the refrigerator. Storing the avocado with the seed will keep the flesh from turning black. Black avocado flesh won’t hurt you, it just isn’t very pretty.

So go ahead – make guacamole. Add avocados to your BLTs. Have a slice or two on your sandwich. Avocados are good for you!
