The only thing clear about the best face anti wrinkle cream is that nothing is clear. The internet is crowded with different websites each proclaiming this cream or that cream to be the best. Undoubtedly, several of these websites are paid advertisements or are affiliates selling the product for profit. Trying to find out what is the desired brand or what is a lotion that shows additional assistance when compared to another seems to be based on opinion only. Part of the reason for this “opinion only” based spectrum is that wrinkle creams are not tested for effectiveness. The FDA classified wrinkle creams as cosmetics and they are therefore classified as having no medical value. As a cosmetic product, wrinkle creams do not need to be tested for efficient or approval in order to be placed on the market. We are left with sale statistics and opinion-based reviews in our journey to distinguish the best face anti wrinkle cream.

According to ehow.com, the top selling face anti wrinkle cream in North America is Olay Regenerate. The website goes on to select another handful of top brands, some economical choices and other creams available only at high-end department stores. These include Avon and La Prairie Switzerland. A visit to the community forums on Oprah.com will incur a number of reviews and opinions. Again, Olay Regenerate and Avon appear to be famous and popular selection among the community there. Other recommendations found for the best face anti wrinkle cream include Green Cream, Burt’s Bees Carrot Lotion and also home-made remedies such as coconut and olive oil mixed with avocado. Whatever the brand name of anti wrinkle cream that one selects, the following are some ingredients that the cream should contain. According to Dr. Oz, the best anti-aging products are the ones that contain natural ingredients. Some examples are red wine, collagen extracts, Matrixyl 3000 or essential fatty acids. The Mayo Clinic suggests that the effectiveness of a cream will depend on the concentration of active ingredients. They recommend selecting creams that contain retinol, hydroxyl acids, copper peptides, kinetin or tea extracts which are also mostly natural ingredients. The certainty matter is that there is a lot of “hype” surrounding anti-aging products. The best face anti wrinkle cream is as subjective as each consumer themselves.

avocado fertility
avocado fertility

There are two main methods of enhancing the chances of conception: traditional and alternative. Let’s first talk about the traditional ways of doing so. One of the major issues in having problems with conceiving is, believe it or not – the stress. It is scientifically proven that stress can affect the hypothalamus - the gland that produces hormones that regulate the process of ovulation, leading to irregularity or even lack of it and respectively reduces the chance of a woman to get pregnant.

All this means reducing the stress will gradually improve the chances of conceiving. Also very important thing to know is when the body is at it’s most fertile state, meaning that this is the time when is more likely to conceive and this is the period prior to the ovulation. That means knowledge about the menstrual cycle and its monitoring is very important in the process. This is the so-called rhythm method, which involves simply monitoring the menstrual cycle and establishing the patterns of infertility and fertility in the process.

The positions during sex are something that may improve or reduce the chance of conceiving too, meaning they should not be underestimated. Usually the positions that allow deeper penetration are thought to be the ones improving that chance. It is also proven that some kinds of food can contribute to a greater chance of conception – the so-called “fertility boosting foods”.

The following foods are considered to fall in this group: whole grains, oily fish, full fat dairy, garlic, lean red meat, honey, spinach, oysters, chilies, avocado etc. Supplementing a balanced diet with the foods listed above will help to ensure that all the nutrients needed are in place and the reproductive system is in an optimum condition.

One of the alternative methods is the reflexology - therapy that uses a foot massage to help balance the body. It is believed that that by massaging the feet in certain places toxins can be removed from the body, the blood circulation can be improved and the endocrine system that regulates hormone production can be brought into balance, all of which helps to improve the fertility as well.

Another alternative method is the acupuncture, which is not particularly used to tackle infertility, but just like the above-mentioned method of reflexology – to help balance of the body and this way to improve the chances of conceiving.

Two other alternative methods are “lunar fertility enhancement” and “aromatherapy”. The first one resembles the menstrual cycle monitoring method and the second – based on the use of essential oils, highly concentrated liquids distilled from plants, to improve the physical and psychological health and well-being as a whole.

Using organic food remedies for beauty and health is definitely not a new concept. In fact, people have been relying on such before the coming of the Industrial Age.

Modernization may have brought us a lot of convenience, but there are now growing populations of people who are seeking to go back to their "organic roots" in the quest to find the perfect anti aging products.

Organic foods are quite beneficial on their own. These have undergone the least amount of processing and preservation. The "raw" materials and the products used to sustain them are all derived from nature.

This means that there are no synthetic chemicals, fertilizers or genetically modified enhancements to worry about.

So how exactly do you use organic foods as anti aging remedies? Here's how:

1. Try to find the viable fruits that have the highest amounts of Vitamin C or Vitamin E components that can help in anti-oxidation. And try to utilize these in more ways than one.

A wonderful example for this would be the innocuous avocado. Aside from containing high levels of Vitamin B, biotin and folic acid, one small avocado fruit contains about 58 grams of mono-saturated fats, 3 mg. of Vitamin E and 32 mg. of Vitamin C. It also contains 25 mg. of calcium.

All these are necessary in cell regeneration which can help speed up the rehabilitation of dry and damaged skin. The mono-saturated fats help promote skin elasticity, making it look more youthful in appearance.

You can incorporate a small amount of avocado with your meals: taking it as it, as a health drink or part of a dish. You can also create an avocado mask made of pureed avocado mixed with a dash of lime or a spoonful of honey.

This also works well with rolled oats. Other examples of such organic fruits that are rich in Vitamin C and E are: kiwifruit, mangoes, papayas, raspberries, strawberries, etc.

2. Try to favor more organic vegetables and fruits; and cook them with organic seasoning - at the least amount of cooking time as possible. There are three elements here:

One: you could incorporate these organic vegetables into your daily meal plans: blueberries, Brazil nuts, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, citrus fruits, cranberries, green tea, kale, prune, raisin, spinach and tomato.

These are the ones that have the best sources of Vitamin C and E which you could take as much as you want. Organic foods like almonds, olive oil, sesame oil and red wine also contain these essential vitamins, but should be taken in moderation.

Two: instead of favoring the already bottled marinades and sauces, you could try making your own using organic fruits, vegetable and seasoning (like sea salt, freshly grated pepper, freshly chopped tomatoes, etc.) You can gain the most benefit from going organic big time, as opposed to simply using one or two organic products.

Lastly: the cooking process can destroy many essential nutrients including the very fragile Vitamin C. So if you are indeed whipping up a dish, try to choose the ones that have the least amount of cooking time.

Grilling is always a great option especially for fish steaks - a dash of organic lime just before serving will add more levels of Vitamin C to your meal. If the dish needs a longer cooking time, you may want to reserve fresh, uncooked vegetables and fruits as a side salad to counter the loss of vitamins in the cooking process.

mango avocado salsa
mango avocado salsa
what do y'all think of this together?

ok so 'y'all' is just cool Im not southern, lol. But! in the meantime, I've come up with this menu for what I think would be a great meal. What do you think?
the main course is some type of white fish, possibly halibut or tilapia, baked with spices to make it spicy, with a little mango-avocado salsa on top.
The sides are sweet potato fries dusted in a bit of garlic
and those (veggietype)beans(what are they called?) theyre usually white but could be light green, are about the size & roundness of a pencil & are somewhat curly at the end???
well those sauteed in just a little butter
for dessert is eithera caramel mocha cheesecake or a fried pancake with bananas & almond sauce(which 1 would be better?)
I don't know what to serve to drink, any suggestions?(no alcohol)
what do you think of this?Does it sound like it's be good? Does it all work well together?just looking for input, suggestions, opinions, etc. lemme know
Also, please no rude or pointless answers. Thanks so much. (=

I would do the fried pancakes for dessert..it sounds like the flavors would compliment the dinner better than the cheesecake, although both sound delicious. Good luck!

Try this for a refreshing non alcoholic drink...

Alvin Starkman  M.A., LL.B.

Internationally acclaimed Oaxacan chef Pilar Cabrera (NY Times, Bon Appetit) has expanded the roster at her well-known downtown Oaxaca cooking school, Casa de los Sabores (House of Flavors).  Effective June, 2009, indigenous Zapotec chef Reyna Mendoza joins Pilar’s team, offering a new dimension to the already stellar selection of options available to intrigued foodies, those with a keen interest in Mexican cuisine, as well as chefs from around the globe seeking to add to their existing menus.

A native of Teotitlán del Valle, Reyna brings her knowledge, skill and experience to Casa de los Sabores.  She specializes in the preparation of Zapotec dishes.

Reyna has worked with the likes of chefs Rick Bayless and Ricardo Muñoz.  Accordingly, her pedigree is beyond reproach, combining technical aspects of the culinary sciences, with lifelong experience in the modest kitchens of her mother and her family’s other matriarchs of gastronome. And today, members of the Oaxaca Bed & Breakfast Association (http://www.oaxacabedandbreakfast.org) had an opportunity to learn for themselves.

Pilar invited colleagues from the association to attend her cooking school, so that owners and managers of small hotels and bed & breakfast guest houses in Oaxaca, would be able to experience for themselves what Reyna can add to the vacation of any visitor to the city and its central valleys.  And for four hours, we grilled, chopped and filled, and finally indulged in the fruits of our labor, at this hands-on demonstration.

While we prepared a complete comida, we focused on the preparation of three distinctly different types of Zapotec-style tamales.  The complete menu consisted of:

1)      Tamales of mole amarillo with chicken, wrapped in large corn stalk leaf;

2)      Tamales of mole negro with chicken, in banana leaf;

3)      Tamales of mole negro with quesillo, in banana leaf;

4)      Tamales of black bean, flavored with avocado leaf, wrapped in corn husk;

5)      Salsa of tomatillo and dried Oaxacan chile

6)      Salad of organic lettuce, locally grown tomato, avocado and scallion, with cilantro and chile poblano dressing;

7)      Mango sherbet served with pecan cookie.

And of course, upon completing the preparation of the foregoing dishes, and throughout the comida, there were rounds of the requisite “salud,” while imbibing … Corona beer and village mezcal.

More than  providing an opportunity for us to learn about Reyna and her ability to teach, and to experience for ourselves the exquisite flavor and ingredient combinations of Zapotec cuisine, it was one of those rare opportunities for members of the Oaxaca Bed & Breakfast Association to tell stories, laugh, and enjoy a day away from the office.

Classes for both traditional Oaxacan recipes with Pilar, and Zapotec cooking with Reyna, can be booked by contacting Pilar through her website, http://www.casadelossabores.com.

Muscle twitch, what can I do?

Any fast acting muscle twitch ideas? I have one in my calf, it's small and doesn't hurt, and it's really starting to annoy me. I've rubbed it, flexed it, even hit it a few times out of frustration lol. Nothing is helping!
I really need to take a nap, and I can't because it won't stop. grr..
And I don't have any bananas or avocados to eat for potassium.
Maybe I should ice it? or use a heating pad?

water is what drives all of our muscles. and if you don't have enough of it, then your muscles start to get stressed. make sure that you are drinking lots and lots of water each day so that your muscles stay hydrated and a big bonus from that is that you'll feel wonderful as well. You can also look for waters with extra electrolytes in them as well.

Potassium is a mineral that most of us don’t think about too often. Interestingly, it is also a mineral that can help the skin in many different ways. How much do you know about potassium and your skin?

Potassium helps muscles to keep their control over the body. Potassium also helps with the growth of new cells. When your body is able to produce new cells, your skin will become healthier. The question is: where can you get your daily dose of potassium?

There are lots of skin care products that include potassium. Then again, you’ll have to be careful about what type of product you use (more on that topic below). However, this happens to be one mineral that you can get from the foods that you eat. Foods that are high in potassium include:

• Meat, Fish, and Poultry
• Apricots
• Avocado

Many other fruits and vegetables are also high in potassium. The trick is to eat enough potassium for your skin to benefit from it, but you shouldn’t overindulge in potassium either. As with most other things, there is a fine line between eating a proper amount and eating too much.

Potassium also helps to relieve any stressful or anxious feelings that you might have; it can reduce the risk of high blood pressure; and it may even be able to prevent stroke. Just think – one small mineral that most people never even think about can help with all of these things.

You may also decide to take a potassium supplement. These supplements are great if you don’t get enough potassium regularly. Of course, you must make sure that you choose a supplement that is good for your body. This means that you must select one that is all natural.

In fact, any skin care products that aren’t made from natural ingredients tend to be rather poor. Some of these chemically concocted products may even harm your skin. This is why it’s important to constantly read the back of any skin care product label.

While you do need to have a good amount of potassium in your diet in order to create healthy skin, you must also make sure that you use only good skin care products. Otherwise, simply try and get your potassium from the foods that you eat.

Now that you know a bit more about potassium, you can begin to adjust your diet accordingly. It may be difficult to keep up with all of the things that are good for your skin, but it’s also important. Since you will have the same skin for the rest of your life (there’s no possibility of trading that skin in!), it makes sense to take care of it.

There are lots of minerals in the world that can really help your skin. The more that you read about your skin, the better off your skin will be. When it comes to skincare, knowledge really is all the power that you need...of course, a healthy dose of potassium doesn’t hurt either.

how can I put a little fat back in my face?

I don't care about gaining a little fat, in fact I am trying to gain about 10-15 lbs in fat at the moment. eating a lot of fattening foods.
peanut butter, bananas, avocados and the like. also maintaining a balanced diet. but I wonder if this is the only way? I am alittle underweight for my height I believe.
I am trying to look as I did a few years back. problem is I got a little taller but no heavier. that would be the why I am trying to gain a few. I am planing on putting on some muscle but not until I get the cheeks back. can I maintain the extra weight and build muscle??
also is it true that if i quit smoking I should gain weight? is that just because it is an apatite suppressant or is there something else at work?

cotton wool in the cheeks ;)
i've heard of actors who want to gain weight quickly for films doing things like melting icecream in microwave and drinking that all the time as a milkshake it's yummy.
but really be so carefull with gaining weight quickly.

If you are thinking of growing a few more inches, you must keep in mind that the most important thing do so is to maintain healthy bones. Just because we can still function properly and we don’t feel any pain in our joint doesn’t mean our bones are healthy. Having a fracture doesn’t mean it is unhealthy as well. Here are some of the things that you can do to make sure that you have healthy bones.

First, have the right amount of calcium and vitamin D. we all know that bones need calcium to increase bone density. Vitamin D, in contrast, is essential for the absorption of calcium. Foods that are loaded with calcium include milk, cheese and yogurt. You can get vitamin D by being exposed to early morning sun. You can also get it by eating eggs and salmon. Likewise, Vitamin K helps stimulate bone growth. You can find this vitamin in avocado and in spinach. Visit here for more http://www.growth-flex.com/ .

For a bone to be healthy, it needs to undergo regular exercise. Regular exercise means following a routine daily. It would be best if you do your workout at the same time of the day, with increasing intensity. Take note that occasional exercise will not help. Physical activity strengthens bones in a way that cannot be done by just eating right.

Aside from a healthy diet and regular exercise, it is also important to have a regular dose of growth enhancers that will help boost your growth. Aging means your body produces less growth hormone that it did when your body was still young. Growth boosters such as Growth Flex V Pro System can help in this matter. Can any raw vegans or nori experts help me w/ the smell?

I bought some raw nori (untoasted) and I made an avocado wrap. It was really good but kind of hard to eat because of the smell of the nori. Does anyoe know how to get rid of the smell w/o me having to cook, toast, or dehydrate it?

Nori will always smell distinctive. Try dipping it in something. If you use ginger or garlic in your sauce or filling, that might help cover up the odor a bit.

Let’s role on…life must go on and the life of your natural hair is in your hand. Take care of your hair with avocado and don’t let it look dull due of incorrect caring. It’s your responsibility for having good looking hair since your appearances is based upon your healthy hair. You probably need good natural hair care products.

But, what does it mean when people said about natural hair care products? Well, hair care products that are advertised "natural" may probably mean free from chemical substance or it may also environmentally friendly products with plant and herbal additives as their substances.

How do you choose natural hair care products? Hmmm….when you purchase hair care products please read the labels and make your own decisions on what level of "natural" ingredients you wish to accept in the hair care products that you use on your hair. This is the most responsible way to select the best products for you.

But there is other way; besides using natural hair care products, you can do some favor for your hair to make it more wonderful here using real natural fruit. This is the hair conditioning treatment using avocado. Check this out:

- Mash one avocado which is recommended for its hydrating benefits and proteins and mix with one-tablespoon lemon juice, one teaspoon of sea salt, and one tablespoon of pure aloe until it becomes a paste.

- Comb through hair with your fingertips.

- Cover hair with a plastic shower cap or bag, and wrap a towel around it to seal in the treatment.

- Leave in for 20-30 minutes and enjoy a great book, CD or even better - just savor the peace and quiet!

- Unwrap you newly conditioned hair. Rinse, shampoo and rinse again for soft, luxurious hair!

Of course there are other fruits you can use for your hair natural treatment. But the step you do is the same like have been described above. You will have good looking hair by the time you check the Internet for more natural hair care products.

Why you need to look for your other natural hair care products at the Internet? Based on some people experiences, Internet is the best place to search for your hair care product. Although you already use fruit such as avocado above, your hair still need more nourishment from hair care products that is available in the Internet.

The finger-licking fajita recipe was actually the discovery of Mexican workers in Texas, USA. However, it is recognized as a Tex-Mex cuisine.

Nevertheless, the name ‘Fajita’ originated many years ago, which vastly includes skirt steak but in the present days a variety of fajitas recipes are available with pork, chicken, shrimp, beef etc.

The traditional fajita meal is usually a combination of meat, vegetables and different ingredients that are mostly cooked on open fire or grilled by wrapping all the ingredients in the flour-based tortilla. The meat is usually cut into strips and among vegetables jalapenos and bell peppers are a must in the wrapping.

History of fajitas

Several studies and researches suggest that the butchers residing in the Texas- Mexico border were using the word ‘fajita’ to indicate the muscle that covers the cow’s belly. And there is no record as to when the name fajita came into the being, although it was seen in print around 1971.

However, the authentic fajita is made with skirt steak and later it was followed by chicken, pork etc. In 1969 Sonny Falcon is supposed to have started the fajita taco stand in Kylie, Texas and eventually sold the fajitas in fairs, festivals etc. A journalist from Austin called Sonny Falcon as ‘The Fajita King’, which made it easy for Falcon to sell his meal with a name that became so popular.

Fajita and it is so easy to cook!

Any fajita recipe is the most the easiest of all to cook; the process and the ingredients that go into the making of fajitas is pretty simple and the cooking time for any fajita is very less, which is why it is gaining more popularity with the working women folks and the taste of it makes it very special dish though.

You can use your creativity to make fajitas, include meat or vegetables and ingredients that will satiate your taste buds. Fajita recipe can be as diverse as you can make them and most importantly you can chew on them when they are hot or cold, either ways fajitas taste yummy; a cheese topping fajita can be an ideal meal. When you have ordered for a fajita recipe in any of the restaurants expect a sizzling sound when it is brought to your table with condiments such as lettuce, sour cream, salsa, tomato etc.

Fajita-a healthy meal

Fajitas are generally spicy and hot, which makes them ideal to increase the body metabolism, effective for sinus and blocked nose. The peppers used in most of the fajita recipe are good to reduce cholesterol and improves blood circulation. Condiments used in the making of fajitas, such as garlic, guacamole, avocado and onions are all very good for health. Generally fajitas are light and serve as a nutritious meal for all.

Article Source: ArticlesBase.com - Fajita Recipe And What You Should Know About It

Firstly I would like to state that I am diabetic and I find it very difficult to create a diabetic diet plan and find foods that are good for me to eat. However after I bought a couple of eBooks and did a lot of research I found the information I was looking for and now I am going to share it with you.

The recommended daily calories for someone with diabetes is usually around 1200-1800 calories and consists of 50%-60% carbohydrates 12%-20% protein and not more than 30% fats. Now that is just a basic outline of what your daily intake should be I will go in to more detail below.

Some must haves for people with diabetes are Alpha-lipoic acid this is like a vitamin and it helps enhance the glucose uptake and improves diabetes nerves damage.

Secondly we have Omega 3 which helps to protect against the hardening of arteries.

The last one I would like to recommend is artificial sweeteners obviously everyone who suffers from diabetes knows that sugar should be kept to a low level in your diabetic diet plan so you can use alternatives such as aspartame and saccharin.

Foods that diabetics should avoid are high fat foods this is a big no no as well as foods with a lot of sodium. As well as this you should restrict the amount of alcohol you intake if you can just do not drink alcohol at all as this can cause health problems like liver damage and increase the risk of heart disease.

Foods for diabetics:

Carbohydrates: Bran, oats, porridge
Fruit: apple, citrus, berries, peaches, pears, plum, and rhubarb.
Vegetables - cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, celery, cucumber, onions, lettuce, olives, peas, pepper spinach, broccoli and tomatoes.

Proteins: Vegetables - beans, lentils, millet, soybeans
Free range chicken and turkey (skinless)
Lean cut of meats - pork, veal, beef and lamb.
Free-ranged chicken eggs.

Fat: Vegetables oils - sesame, soybean, sunflower, Avocados,
Poultry: mackerel, tuna, herrings and salmon.
Unsaturated margarine

Ensuring you know what you should and should not eat if you suffer from diabetes is essential in keeping diabetes under control and having a good diabetic diet plan is part of this.

If you have been in the same relationship for more than 2 years, you may want to spice things up in the bedroom a bit. Here are 5 tips to try.

1. Try a natural aphrodisiac: There a number of foods like oysters, avocadoes, chocolate, grapes, pine nuts, peas and asparagus which are said to hold natural powers to stimulate your partner's excitement. Experiment with some of these when you cook and see what works for the two of you.

2. Talk about what turns each other on:
For both men and women, the verbal centers are very deeply connected with sexuality. Try talking about your fantasies or what you have done before. Before you know it, you could both be in a new state of arousal.

3. Film yourselves making love:
This may have sounded too kinky to try 20 years ago, but in the home electronics era of today this is an increasingly common way for couples to stimulate themselves. Watch a clip of your lovemaking and then try the real thing.

4. Make more time for yourselves:
When most couples plan their schedules, they do so independently, often baking in very little time for their relationship. Try setting aside an extra 20 or 30 minutes each evening just to sit and talk with your husband. If you can make this a regular thing, soon you may find yourself sneaking off to the bedroom during "talk time" instead.

5. Get a hotel:
Changing the venue for your lovemaking can provide your love with a whole new horizon of possibilities as you see each other for the first time in a new light, both literally and figuratively.

The key to spicing up your love life is to shake things up a bit. As you spend more time together in new and unique situations, you will start taking each other for granted less and start making new discoveries together.

Is this a bad diet plan?

I am going from an extremely bad lifestye to hopefully a healthy lifestyle. I'm hoping to move from a daily diet of fast food to pesetarianism to vegetarianism. Here's my plan, and tell me what you think.

30 minutes of jogging daily
20-30 minutes of situps, pushups etc. 4 times a week

Breakfast:
4 ounces orange juice
yogurt
1 slice of toast or a whole fruit (usually a bananna)

Lunch:
4 oz. Tilapia
1 1/2 cups of stir fry vegetables

Snack:
dehydrated avocados

Dinner:
pasta with fettucine sauce or marinara
1 cup vegetables

snack:
whole fruit or can of sardines

diet accompanied by approximately 74 oz water

At least once a day, I eat 1 cookie to cut cravings

My diet is more varied than this, but this is what I ate yesterday

I allow myself two cheat meals a week of anything I want, but I use portion control. Eventually, I will cut out the fish altogether, and replace it with beans, eggs, legumes.

If you're not already be sure to include a multivitamin somewhere to make sure you're getting the basic nutritional elements you need.

Jogging is a great way to start. I've always felt like (for me at least) running is the best exercise and the quickest way to burn fat.

If you get in a rut just remember that 30 minutes of ACTIVITY, even if it's not jogging, is way better than sitting. I try to use recreation rather than just exercise. It keeps things interesting for me and keeps me from getting bored or unmotivated.

We eat to nourish our bodies and stay healthy and strong. But which food is best? That is, if you could survive on eating only one thing for the rest of your life, what would that perfect food be?

Here are the top contenders (in no particular order):

Blueberries — packed with antioxidants and phytochemicals, they are delicious. Widely available year-round fresh or frozen, they may help protect against Alzheimer’s disease and colon cancer, plus they improve nighttime visual acuity and help fight aging by reducing wrinkles.

Avocadoes — provide more than 25 essential nutrients, including potassium, Vitamin E, B-vitamins, and folic acid. One serving (about one-fifth of a medium avocado) contains 55 calories, most of which come from monounsaturated fat, thought to help maintain heart health. They are also a great source of fiber.

Sweet potato — naturally sweet, low in calories, high in fiber, and packed with vitamins and minerals (including beta-carotene, vitamin C, manganese, copper, vitamin B6, potassium, and iron), the sweet potato is king. Note that the moist, orange-fleshed sweet potatoes are NOT to be confused with yams, which are not related to sweet potatoes, and not usually found in local grocery stores.

Yogurt — has live cultures (probiotics), calcium, and B vitamins, which work together to help mitigate lactose intolerance, allergies, colon and breast cancer, diarrhea, and urinary tract infections. In addition, the calcium in yogurt helps reduce the chance of osteoporosis and keep our teeth strong. The protein helps our muscles to get stronger.

Salmon — a good source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids (more highly concentrated in the wild kind), salmon reduces inflammation and improves cholesterol levels, thereby reducing risk of heart attack and stroke.

Eggs — high in quality protein and essential fatty acids, they offer many ingredients needed to build and maintain strong health. Eggs also provide significant amounts of several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, riboflavin, folic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, iron, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium.

Soybeans — found in foods like soy milk, soy sauce, miso (soybean paste), tempeh (which is kind of like a soy cake), and tofu, soy products provide a good source of protein (and healthy meat alternative), as well as iron, zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, B vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids, and fiber.

Whole grains — contain valuable antioxidants not found in fruits and vegetables. They also contain B vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium, iron, and fiber. Their main benefits include heart disease and stroke risk reduction, and type 2 diabetes risk reduction.

Broccoli — packed with vitamins A and C, iron, calcium and phytonutrients, it is filling, high in fiber, and low in calories. It also contains many cancer-fighting antioxidants and can help prevent cataracts, heart disease, and arthritis.

Bananas — a sweet source of potassium (an electrolyte necessary for maintaining many functions in the body), vitamin C, and several amino acids, bananas make a wonderful addition to any meal of the day for all age groups.

Chocolate — perhaps most delicious of all, chocolate contains heart-healthy antioxidants called flavonoids, which may reduce damage to arteries by preventing the oxidation of LDL (“bad”) cholesterol. About one-third of the fat is monounsaturated, which can even slightly lower cholesterol. Additionally, it appears that cocoa (chocolate without the fat) has an aspirin-like effect, helping to prevent blood clots known to cause heart attacks. Also, new studies have shown cocoa may lower blood pressure and improve the body’s processing of sugar.

And the Winner is …

So, which food is most perfect? None of them! That’s right. Because our bodies cannot function without all essential nutrients, and no food exists that provides every single one, we could not possibly live on any one food.

Bon appetite!

did i eat well today?

today for lunch i had half a turkey wrap with a little bit of bacon and dressing and avocado and lettuce, and a banana, and some grapes, and a pear. Was that a good, healthy lunch?

For breakfast I had a bowl of honey nut cheerios with some almond milk.

For dinner I am having plain chicken wings with some seasonings but thats it.
So did I eat well today, with good choices? Im kind of limited since Im only 15 and don't buy the food in the house.

And then I came home and snacked on some cantaloupe. For break
aye.. I thought that about cheerios. ): And I try to get my mom to make more veggies, but she like... doesnt! She hates making them and never does and I get kind of angry because I need them and dont get enough!

Hi. No, your dinner is completely devoid of vegetables. Try to incorporate as much colorful vegetables with your dinner as possible. Also, know that cereals like Cheerios are simply puffed crap with artificial vitamin supplements added to make it seem healthy. Eat a real cereal by Kashi. I really like the Kashi company and what they stand for.

I'll leave you with these delicious recipes from Rubin’s website:
Taco Lettuce Wraps (Raw vegetarian)

Serve two tacos on a white salad plate with a favorite Mexican seasoning on top.

How many times have you tried the latest anti aging product for sensitive skin only to find it's not effective and still causes some irritation? The reason for this is the harmful chemicals that the well-known brands put in to preserve and pad out their products. Discover the natural ingredients that not only give you younger looking healthy skin but also boost your health.

The majority of anti aging products for sensitive skin contain mineral oil (paraffin wax, petrolatum), parabens (methyl, propyl) and fragrances which could be any number of thousands of chemicals are present, and also dioxane, known to the state of California to cause cancer.

These clog up the pores and make it hard for the skin to eliminate the toxins while stripping away your natural oils, leading to more irritation and other health issues with regular use.

With regards to sensitive skin it is absolutely vital to use one that contains no harmful chemicals at all and only natural extracts to work in synergy with your body.

Some of the best ones include Cynergy TK from New Zealand sheep's wool, Babassu wax from the Amazon rainforest, Phytessence wakame from Japanese sea kelp and natural oils like Grapeseed, Avocado and Macadamia.

Don't be put off if you haven’t heard of all of them as they are only available from smaller specialist niche companies that use their resources for the best ingredients and not expensive advertizing. Article Source: ArticlesBase.com - Why Most Anti Aging Products For Sensitive Skin Don't Work and How To Find The Ones That Do

No other part of your body gets looked at more than your face. People can tell your emotions by looking at your face. And they judge how attractive you are by your face.

You can cover up your body with clothes. But your face is naked to the world. All you can do is smile and show off your radiant skin. When you're young, your skin looks good without you having to do anything. But with age, it takes work to keep it healthy.

However, you won't find the best skincare products in the usual places. They're not in drugstores. Not in high-end department stores either. The facial creams you'll find there often contain harmful ingredients.

Which ingredients cause harm?

Well, one that's widely used (because it's cheap) in the skincare industry is mineral oil. Studies done by consumer advocate groups have proven this ingredient ineffective as a moisturizer. In fact, it has been shown to clog pores to the point of suffocating skin.

Mineral oil may also be listed as liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, or petrolatum.

Other ingredients that you may not expect to be toxic are fragrances. The best skincare products don't contain fragrances. Many chemicals used to create fragrances are known toxins or carcinogens.

It's safe to use perfumes and colognes; you're only dabbing it on. But with a skin cream, you're rubbing it all over your face. Your exposure to these dangerous chemicals is much greater.

It's shocking but a majority of brand name skin care creams contain these two ingredients. And those aren't the only bad ones. For the companies that make them, it seems that marketing is more important than developing a safe, effective product.

The best skin creams contain only natural ingredients.

Examples:

Avocado oil - stimulates collagen production in the body which is needed to prevent wrinkles.

Shea butter - soothes inflammation, lightens dark spots, and gives skin a velvet-y feel.

Babassu - natural wax that helps skin retain moisture and keep out dirt.

By closely reading the label, you'll be able to determine the quality and safety of the product for yourself. Stick to pure ingredients and your skin will glow.

How about some healthy food ideas for daughters first birthday?

We are a healthy bunch, and my daughter only eats fruit, veges, dairy, eggs, pulses and meat (normally organic) and only drinks water or boob.

Its her first birthday and i want to put on an interesting, but healthy table of food, that kids will enjoy. I know some of her friends are heathy too and yes some are brought up on a diet of junk and soda. I cant bring myself to serve hotdogs, chips and candy to babies - it seems too cruel. But i do want them to be treated.

Some ideas i have is baby sized veges and baby dip (avocado / aubergine / hummus /creme cheese...?). Mini muffins. Fruit cubes. Baby Pizzas (corn thins/pita bread, with topping and melted cheese). pasta salad. some sort of homemade fish/chicken finger. And of course some birthday cake.

Any more ideas or recipes would be great.

You could do yogurt with fun toppings. Especially encouraging kids to eat the pro-biotics now with the flu peaking.

If you are thinking about buying and using the top professional skin care products, you might want to reconsider.  I won’t mention any brand names, because this is not a product review.  But, you will learn about the ingredients that should be avoided, no matter what the brand name or which designer endorsed it.

Choosing a Sunscreen

According to the Environmental Working Group, a non-profit organization unaffiliated with any cosmetic company or the industry, in general, 3 out of 5 of the sunscreens on the market do not protect the skin against sun damage or they contain hazardous chemicals.  The best sunscreens on the EWG’s 2009 list contain zinc oxide. The SPF ratings are all over 30.

Choosing a Cleanser

The most important thing to avoid in a cleanser is an ingredient called ethylene oxide.  Manufacturers use it to make harsh ingredients milder.  It would make more sense if they just used mild ingredients in the first place.  The state of California found that ethylene oxide reacts with other ingredients during the manufacturing process to form cancer-causing Dioxane.

Choosing a Moisturizer

Here’s where the top professional skin care products are really bad.  Practically all of them contain petrolatum and/or mineral oils, which are not actually moisturizing and do clog the pores.  Petrolatum continues to be used as an inactive carrier, despite the fact that it is known “not†to moisturize and may actually contribute to the aging process.

Choosing Make-up

Although lead-based paint has been banned and the use of it in water pipes has been outlawed, make-up still contains lead-based pigments.  The EWG reports that lipstick and many other types of makeup contain traces of lead.  It won’t be listed on a label.  So, in order to avoid it, you will need to avoid artificial colors and look for natural pigments.

Choosing Makeup Remover

The top professional skin care products are too strong for use by the average person.  The cleansers are irritating.  They choose the stronger ingredients, because it makes makeup removal easier.  If you choose a makeup that is not waterproof, you won’t need the strong ingredients.

Choosing a Nighttime Cream

Nighttime creams can be highly beneficial for improving moisture content and reducing wrinkles.  But, they are also more likely to cause allergic reactions, because they are left on all night.  You’ll find that the top professional skin care products contain ingredients that are common allergens and irritants.  You want something different.

Shea butter, avocado oil, coenzyme Q10, natural vitamin E and keratin are among the ingredients to look for.  Those will provide moisture and help to repair damage done during the day.

If you get in the habit of reading the ingredients label, you will soon see how easy it is to spot the good and the bad ones.  The EWG’s safety database for cosmetics can help.

For the most part, the top professional skin care products do not contain the best ingredients.  You would be better off buying something for an amateur.  And always look for products made with natural ingredients instead of chemicals.

Picking the right after sun moisturizer can literally mean the difference between looking young, and beautiful, or looking old, and wrinkled.

The reason is because almost all products on the market today contain ingredients that will harm your skin in the long run.

And I don’t just mean harm a little, some of them have been known to cause cancer. Dioxane for example has been declared by the state of California to cause cancer, why would you want that on your skin.

It’s weird that other states haven’t banned it yet, and to think that people are actually paying money for these kind of after sun moisturizers.

You can find any old after sun moisturizer in your local store, that is for sure. But if you really want to find a good one, you will have to invest in buying a very good natural moisturizer.

Once I stopped thinkin “after sun” and started thinking ingredients and quality, my skin started looking a lot better.

The ingredients you want to look for in a good after sun moisturizer, and a skin care product are Cynergy TK, Active Manuka Honey, Avocado Oil, Grapeseed Oil, and Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10.

So if you want to avoid the dangers of the chemicals in our skin care products today, you will have to do a little bit of your own research, but it is worth it. Once I put in the time, and found a product that I now use daily, I realized how important it was.

Are you still confused? Not quite satisfied with this article? Read the follow-up article on how I found a good after sun moisturizer, and how you can too, by learning a few secrets about the skin care industry. Visit my website to learn more.

What's a good side dish with protein that would go well with crepes?

I'm making dinner for a large group of people and I got the ambitious idea to do a crepes bar: a continuous stream of crepes with a variety of toppings people can choose from (both sweet and salty: applesauce, jam, cream cheese, nutella, smoked salmon, prosciutto, fresh tomatoes and avocados). I'm also planning to have a large tossed salad, but what's another side dish I could serve that would provide protein and round out the meal?

Well you are providing some great protein with the salmon, nutella and prosciutto, you could keep it simple and add garbanzos or other legumes to the salad or perhaps a quiche if you think someone might not like crepes. Good luck!

What happens when an avocado's pit is soft?

Is there anything wrong with the avacado? I became a fan of the avacado a couple years back, and about ten minutes ago I cut one in half. Then when I normally give the pit a good whack with a knife and twist the pit out. This time the pit split! Like i was cutting wood, I quartered the thing. This hasn't happened before and It got me thinking. Anybody know why this would happen? Or is it just that some pits are harder than others.
Also, I just ate the avacado I was talking about. It was delicious.

It might be a bit riper than other avocados you've had. I had that happen to me once and about cut my finger in half! I whacked the knife into the pit (while holding it in my left hand) and went right THROUGH the whole darn thing, cutting into my ring finger. I lost feeling in it for a few months, scared the heck outta me! Avocados are worth it though.....tasty little green things :)

What if I told you to stop using any brand name body cream. Well, for one thing you would certainly want to know why, right!

I will start by saying that most brand name products simply are not effective at moisturizing and rejuvenating your skin.

The most effective body cream should contain specific natural ingredients that are rich in vitamins and minerals. Your typical brand name product is usually chock full of chemicals and synthetic additives.

What do you think is better for your skin? Obviously, it is a body cream full of potent plant extracts that penetrate deep into the skin to heal and moisturize from the inside out.

Chemicals and synthetic additives can potentially can harm to you or your skin. And, unfortunately many skin care products contain these ingredients.

Let’s look at some of the ingredients that you should avoid. One of the worst ingredients used these days is mineral oil. Mineral oil is a petroleum product that offers little to no value to your skin.

It is a very cheap additive, which is why it is used so often. It can actually dry out your skin after prolonged use. In addition, it can clog your pores, which leads to acne breakouts as well.

Clearly, this is not a substance that you would want on your skin. A good natural body cream will not contain this harmful ingredient.

Can Skin Care Products Cause Cancer?

This is hard to believe, but there are some ingredients used in brand name products that can potentially cause cancer.

A preservative called parabens is widely used in skin creams and lotions. This preservative will prolong the shelf life of the product, which means it sits on the store shelf until someone buys it.

Studies have found parabens in the breast tissue of women suffering from breast cancer. It is inconclusive as to whether the parabens caused the cancer but there is certainly cause for alarm.

Avoid using products that contain parabens. A good natural body cream will not contain this ingredient.

Now that you know a couple of ingredients to avoid in a body cream, what are some of the ingredients you should be looking for?

Natural essential oils are rich in vitamins and nutrients your skin needs in order to look and feel healthy.

Specific oils include Avocado oil, Macadamia oil, Jojoba oil and Grapeseed oil. These oils penetrate deep into the skin and do not leave an oily residue either.

Another very effective natural substance is Cynergy TK. Most people have not heard of this substance, but it is a major breakthrough in natural skin care.

Cynergy TK can actually help to stimulate the re-growth of vital skin proteins. This helps in reducing the signs of aging. If you truly want an effective body cream then choose one that contains this amazing substance.

Well, there you have it. Now the rest is up to you. You can continue to use a chemical based body cream or one rich in safe, effective natural ingredients.

Have 4,avocado 3 mango saplings 25 weeks old,one avocado leaves turned brown , fell of,now 1 , mango ,ITALY?

I live in Italy,Have a small garden,of the 4 avocado and 3 mango plants 25 weeks old,one each avocado & mango, the leaves turned brown, avocado has shed all leaves, mango has not yet shed the leaves, other plants all are healthy.

I think there's a problem. Your trees shouldn't be shedding right now and they seem so young. What kind of climate do you have there in Italy?

If you are like me, you too would hate those age spots on face that just do not go away no matter which treatment you try. Is there a way to really get rid of them? Let’s find out.

To be able to solve this problem of age spots on face on a permanent basis, we first need to understand why they develop on our skin at all. Then we can evaluate the different treatments and choose the best one out of them.

When we stay out in the sun, its UV rays increase the production of Melanin inside our skin. Melanin is the pigment that determines how dark our skin is going to be. More melanin means a darker skin and a small quantity makes for a light colored skin.

The increased melanin gets concentrated in a few places in the upper layer of the skin. The skin in those areas turns dark and forms brown spots. These are what we call age spots or liver spots.

There are many ways people try to remove these spots from their skin. Usually they opt for bleaching creams that contain ingredients like Hydroquinone.

This chemical does help to an extent in lightening the skin and removing the spots – but at a high cost. This chemical is highly destructive in nature and damages the skin extensively. It can also cause cancer in the long run and should be avoided at all costs.

Other ways of removing the spots are treatments like skin peeling, sanding and laser treatment.

All these treatments are invasive in nature and work by destroying the skin cells containing the excess melanin. The spot in that skin area gets removed in this manner. Problem is – these treatments are quite expensive and can leave behind tell tale signs in the form of white marks and scars on the skin.

You can avoid all these problems by using a natural method of age spot removal.

If you use natural substances like Extrapone Nutgrass on your skin, the spots will be gone without the risk of any side effects. This plant extract works by reducing the melanin in the skin by up to 40%. Reduced melanin means a lighter skin. Apart from removing the existing age spots on face, it also helps in ensuring the spots do not recur – something that other treatments fail to do.

Avocado Oil is another natural ingredient that helps in removing the spots from the skin. It is also an effective moisturizer and keeps the skin soft and supple.

This is the easiest way to remove the age spots on face. Just avoid the invasive treatments and look for a natural option. If you need more information, visit my website below.

kcal avocado

The golden principle-do more physical activity and avoid too many calories. Discipline and the strength of your will depend only on you, but we will help with some tips.

1.  Don’t starve

If you start taking a severe diet, you will lose lots of weight, which is mainly water and energy from your muscles, after what you will shortly start regaining your pounds, since your body will start reserving everything from every calorie it receives. The outcomes of the severe dieting might be very drastic: breaking down the metabolism, the lack of vitamins and nutritious matters, psychological problems and bad mood.  Remember that your organism has to get all the necessary nutritious elements. Depending on the type of work and way of living (sedentary work, physical activity), you have to get approximately 1500-2500 kcal. Those who burn more energy during the day must consume over 3000kcal

2.  Do sports

You will achieve best results if you combine diet with sports. Besides 30 min of daily physical activity reduce the early death risk by one fourth. If you didn’t do sports before, start from simple strolls or swimming in the sea or lake. Summer is the best time for it! It will not only refresh you, but also will help you to firm your most problematic zones.

3. Limit your meal portions

Don’t put too much on your plate. Instead use smaller plates to avoid this. Control the portions. Don’t cook for several servings if you eat by yourself.

4. Drinks can be caloric too

All drinks, except for water, have calories. Did you know that a glass of 2% fat milk had 20 calories more than the same glass of fruit juice? But milk is more useful to our body.
And alcohol-a true caloric bomb. A glass of sweet dessert wine has even 225 kcal. Alcohol and diet are simply incompatible things. When we use alcohol, the organism stops burning fat and starts separating alcohol. This ruins your diet plans and stops the process of weight dropping. Avoid various soda drinks. In summer it’s better to use cold green tea.

5.  Avoid white flour products

Avoid white bread. If you find one, buy brown bread. Eliminate all the rolls, donuts, cakes and cookies.

6. Sometimes be more lenient to yourself

If you’re overwhelmed by the huge urge to eat something tasty, don’t punish yourself too harsh and have a bite. Of course, we recommend you o choose something from slightly healthier desserts: jelly, fruit gummies, dry fruits, sherbets, cornflakes. If you did eat something more caloric, try to use fewer calories on your next meal.

7. Prefer bright and dark color vegetables and fruits

Distinctly bright color vegetables and fruits have more antioxidants which protect your body from the harmful effect of the free radicals. For example, apples, broccoli, cabbages and spinaches have lutein which is useful for the hydration, elasticity and your eyes. Avocados and green leafy vegetables have vitamin E which strengthens the membranes of the cells and can protect from the wrinkles. The more colorful fruits and vegetables you have on your table, the wider range of vitamins you get.

8. Write a diary of your diet

This might seem quite weird, but writing a diary would let you feel discipline better. You can also write down the entire week menu so that you don’t have to think what to eat, because eating in a rush and not to the plan might bring extra calories. Write down what’s most difficult while being on a diet. Let your diary be your diet companion and guide. Instead of complaining to your husband or your best friend how it’s hard to keep to the diet, better write it in your diary.

Article Source: ArticlesBase.com - Weight Loss Reviews: Lose Weight With 8 Golden Diet Rules

Usually in the mornings many women do not want to eat, rather sleep. So, they drink coffee. In the afternoon such women hardly find 10 minutes for a lunch which usually ends up in a coffee house or in front of the computer with a snack nearby.  Situation does not change in the evening: dietitians recommend having a dinner at 6pm, but career women still work at this time and eat whatever they find late evening. It means there is no eating system, no proper diet. So what‘s to be done in order not to gain weight with such a working schedule?

Main tips and recommendations:

Do not skip breakfast in the morning; however, do not eat too much either. Yogurt, cornflakes, a glass of milk is fine enough. In a couple of hours you can have another breakfast portion again, for example tea with some cookies, flakes, a sandwich, salad.

For a lunch it is recommended to have eggs (which stimulate memory), lean meat or fish. It is best to avoid bread and pasta because they affect the brain in a relaxing way and stimulate sleepiness.

For a dinner or supper time dietitians allow eating whatever one likes: pasta, meat, salad, vegetables and so on. Most important-eat moderately!

Eat lots of fruits! They have vitamins, antioxidants, fibers. It is recommended to eat fruits half an hour before the meal (that is the time necessary for digesting) or 3-4 hours after it. Breakfast full of fruits is the best one can have! Besides, since there is a huge range of fruits, it is always easy to choose different ones for breakfast. However, there are some warnings. What to eat?

Apples: British say “One apple per day- a life without doctors!” A normal sized apple has 60-100 calories. Apples have cellular tissues, pectin, folic acid, antioxidants, which reduce the amount of the “bad” cholesterol in the blood.

Persimmon: Chinese say „Heavy orange fruits give solar energy. They cure the heart and stimulate memory“. Persimmon is a diet fruit which tones up, stimulates urine, calms down the nerve system, and increases the working capacity, which is important for career women. Persimmon contains lots of potassium, magnesium, natrium and cellular tissues twice as much as there are in apples.

Citrus fruits: contains lots of vitamin C covered with a thick peel. Oranges and mandarins have more than 170 necessary vitamins and material that strengthen the immune system, preventing the tumors. Grapefruits can even help to lose some weight.

Kiwi: this fruit can satisfy all the organism demand for vitamin C. Kiwi contains potassium, calcium, iron. A famous French dietitian Michelle Montiniaque recommends starting a day with a kiwi.

Mango:  they contain practically all the necessary vitamins, especially vitamin C (more than a lemon).

Avocados: valuated for vitamins A, D, E and potassium, phosphorus, natrium. Avocados are the biggest enemy of cholesterol. However, Spanish say „avocado is the butter in the case“, because they are very calorific-227 kcal/100g which is three times less than in butter, but even 4.5 times more than in apples.

Bananas: the most calorific fruit of them all.

Grapes: contain lots of sugar.

For better health, experts recommend both-a healthy diet and physical activity. Finding ways to fit exercise into your daily routine is easier than you may think.

Avocado Nutrition Facts?! Help!?

Hey I went to eat at a Vietnamese noodle cuisine a while ago.

After I ate my meal, I drank an avocado shake.

I hear stuff about avocado shakes being really fattening. Is this true?!

Can someone please type in true nutrition facts? Like the kind you see on everyday food. (i.e fat, trans fat, calories,...)

Plz and thx so much!

If you want to know if the Avocado shake is fattening - asking about just the nutritional content of the avocado will give you only part of the story.

The problem is - there is no standard recipe for an avocado milkshake - so I would be unable to give you the exact nutrient information for the exact shake you are drinking. But I did find one recipe for a Vietnamese style avocado shake that uses Avocado, condensed milk sugar and ice. Condensed milk can really add on the calories.

For one shake - made with a medium avocado, 1/4 cup of condensed milk, 2 tablespoons sugar and ice:

Calories 615
Total fat: 36 grams (this is probably more than half your recommended intake of fat for ONE DAY!)
Total protein: 10 grams
Total Carb: 71 grams (of that 15 grams is fiber)
Sodium: 115 mg

This makes a relatively small shake. The one you consume in a restaurant could easily be double the above nutritional facts.

Nutrition is a very important variable in the fitness equation
.

If I had to give only one piece of advice on nutrition matters, it would be:

“Don’t bother with minutiae! Get the big picture!”

or

“Don’t lose the forest for the trees”.

There is such information overload on nutrition issues that it’s very easy to lose your way in its labyrinth.

The salvation? Stick to the basics!

FITNESS AND NUTRITION: THE BASICS

1) Whatever you eat, if you want to lose weight/fat, you have to create a caloric deficit.
This is simple maths: If your caloric intake is less than your caloric expenditure, you will lose weight (fat hopefully!).
2) This leads to the second point: You have to possess a basic knowledge regarding the caloric values of most common foods.
That said, on no occasion should you be a slave to some calorie counter.
3) Adopt the healthy habit of dividing your daily caloric intake into 5-6 meals, eating every 3 – 3,5 hours.
Your meals should be mainly combinations of either carbs with protein (let’s say half of them) or fat with protein (remaining half).
Combinations of fats with carbs create the perfect conditions for fat storage. You have simultaneously insulin and lipids in you blood.
In your fat + protein meals, you can have vegetables.
Try to include protein and vegetables in every meal.
This ritual will help you to keep your hunger under control all day, will assist your metabolism and keep your blood sugar levels fairly stable.

4) Show preference to low glycemic index (and load) foods. Low GI foods will help you:

- Keep your blood sugar and consequently your energy levels stable.
- Control your cravings.
- Avoid excessive fat storage because of insulin overexcretion.
(Many facts cited here don’t pertain to post workout meals. For post work nutrition please check the relative articles.)

5) Don’t succumb to any kind of counterfactual promises and allegations.
Avoid any kind of fad, exotic and exhaustive diets.
Don’t be the next victim of the fitness imposters! There are no magical solutions! There is only patience, commitment and persistence.

6) Pay due attention to the emotional eating because it can sabotage your hard efforts and this can happen to an unconscious level. For this reason emotional eating is a snake in the grass.
Learn to recognize true hunger, eat small meals frequently and keep unhealthy foods out of your reach.
Remember: emotional eating gives only temporary comfort and leaves you remorseful for a long time!
7) Eat foods as much unprocessed, natural and unrefined as possible. Do benefit from their vitamins, fibers and minerals.
Avoid whatever comes in a box, can or bottle. Processed foods, loaded with tons of sugar, salt, white flour, corn syrup and trans-fats and various preservatives are a real menace for the western world and the no 1 cause of obesity. These foods are calorie – dense and nutrient-devoid.
8) Avoid fruit juices even freshly squeezed. Eat the whole fruit instead. You need the fibers and the satiety you feel is an extra benefit.
Liquid foods will not activate well the satiety mechanisms, so avoid them and especially when you are a diet regime.
All you liquid intake should be preferably pure water.
9) Drink plenty of water. A good rule of thumb is 25ml/Kg of weight. A whole article will be devoted on water intake very soon.
10) Protein: Take your protein from complete sources and preferably: omega-3 eggs, meat with no visible fat, turkey and chicken breasts, cottage cheese, small, fatty fish and preferably the humble but miraculous sardine.
11) Carbs: Eat fresh vegetables at your will. Fruits, brown rice and pasta and sweat potatoes with moderation.
12) Fats: Reduce your unsaturated fat intake and focus on the essential fatty acids and monounsaturated fats.
Eat small, wild fatty fish, flax seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, mixed raw nuts, olive oil, avocados etc.
