How To Avoid Boredom With The Vegetarian Diet

How to avoid boredom with the vegetarian diet

Admittedly, to many people the vegetarian diet may not sound like the tastiest option of a dietetic habit to adhere to, however coming from a guy who has been a vegetarian for close to a decade, nothing could be further from the truth.

Furthermore, my diet has not included such common vegetarian items as Soy, tofu and other similar products as I truly believe that what one eats should be as close to natural as possible.

Now, the bulk of the items that constitute my meals normally include raw fruits, fruit, root and leafy vegetables and maybe some less harmful whole grains.

It also has not been a challenge for me to mix these components up into tasty and nutritious meals and I will now present some samples for you to try out…and trust me, there's more where these will come from or better still, you can create your own masterpieces by simply getting creative with your imagination.

SMOOTHIES

"Chocolate" Milk

-10-15 medium dates

-3 ripe bananas.

-1 Young Coconut (I don't usually use the water inside of the nut although I heard it has some benefits, I have tested it on me to a not so good result but again we are all different)

-16 oz cold Water

Blend everything starting with the fruits then the coconut.

Strawberry Delight

-4-8 strawberries

-1-2 Bananas

-8-10 dates

Try these samples out and I bet you they would taste better than any less healthy and more expensive smoothie you could get from your usual sources.

SALAD DRESSINGS

A raw-chef once stated that one's success with a vegetarian diet may hinge on his/her choice of salad dressings. That considered, here are some other favorites.

Tom-Avo

-2 organic Roma or Hot House tomatoes

-2 big Avocadoes (pitted)

-2 tsp orange juice (freshly squeezed) 2 oz of water

The Real Ranch Dressing:

-2 medium sized tomatoes

-2 young coconuts

-1/2 tsp of salt

-6 organic sun dried tomatoes

-I stalk of Celery

-1 tbs of lemon juice (optional)

OTHER MEALS

Sweet Potato Pie

-Bake Garnet or Jewel yams (or Jersey Sweet Potatoes) in an oven heated to 475 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

-When it can be pierced, allow to cool.

-Upon cooling, peel the vegetable and mash with avocadoes and a little bit of sea salt.

This is actually a great simple dish of most tropical countries.

Coconut rice:

(-This is a great Brazilian dish made by boiling rice in coconut milk as described below.)

-Coconut milk is quite a satisfying drink in itself and can serve as a basis for smoothies and dressings as well. If using for a smoothie, I recommend only for ‘Chocolate Foras' or for a substitute for ‘Real Ranch Dressing'

How to make coconut milk

-Heat Drinking water to a medium temperature.

-Pour 24oz of water in a Blender..

-Add some pieces of chopped mature coconuts (the round brown ones available in most grocery stores)

-Now blend till it's finely chopped.

-Pour this solution through a strainer and press the residue to squeeze out the liquid.

-Blend this pulp again following the preceding steps.

And ensure to drain again pressing on the pulp to squeeze out the nutrients.

-Use a quart and a half of coconut milk as the liquid to boil your rice.

-You may add more water as needed.

-You can also make the milk the night before and then the next day blend half of it with 2 tomatoes and add this solution to the remaining half and also boil the rice in it for Spanish rice.

-You can slice some peeled zucchini or chopped celery into the rice and boil all together for a hearty delight.

Well, coming up with tasty meals should perhaps be as simple as being creative as it truly is an art, but with the samples listed herewith, I hope you would a blue-print of sorts to get you started.

The Components of a Healthy Diet for Your Obese Children

Now let's look at the main components of a healthy diet in more detail, so that you can understand which of these foods are best for youf child in the fight against weight gain and obesity, and which should be avoided whenever possible. It makes sense to start with fats

Fats
Despite the impression given by the press, fat is necessary for growing bodies, and a shortage may lead to cravings and health problems. Low-fat products are not of any real benefit in the fight against obesity. Indeed, they teach children that junk food or fatty foods are fine in their diets, as long as their fat content is reduced. For obvious reasons, this does nothing to educate them about healthy eating habits. Low-fat crisps are no better than full-fat crisps, nor are half-fat cheeses a better alternative to the full-fat variety.

Again, it is the type of fat that makes the difference. There are a number of different types of fats and familiarizing yourself with them will help you to make the right choices for your children - and indeed the whole family.

Fats to avoid

Trans fats
The most harmful type of fats are trans fats, the type that most often appear in 'low-fat' or modified foods, as well as most junk and convenience foods - and very often the type aimed at kids. Trans fats are produced through hydrogenation, a chemical process that adds hydrogen to an unsaturated fat, such as a vegetable oil, in | order to make it solid or spreadable. Trans fats are strongly associated with an increased risk of heart disease. What's more, they appear to be even worse for health than saturated fats because in addition to raising bad cholesterol, they may lower good cholesterol. They are also now being linked with certain cancers.

Trans fatty acids lengthen the shelf life of products and hence they're commonly found in processed foods, commercial baked goods (such as biscuits, cakes and doughnuts) and many margarines. Of course, foods will not list trans fats in the ingredients list on the label - instead it will say 'hydrogenated' vegetable oil or fat. Some foods are 'partially hydrogenated', which means that they are partially hardened - these too should be avoided because of the high levels of trans fats.

Fats to eat sparingly

Saturated fats

You may be surprised to see this here, as saturated fats have been considered the bad guy for many years - and with some justification. Saturated fats are found in animal products such as butter, cheese, fatty meats, whole milk, cream and ice cream. They are also found in some vegetable oils, such as coconut, palm and palm kernel oils.

A diet high in saturated fat increases the quantity of 'bad' cholesterol in the body and is one of the major risk factors for heart disease. Too much fat also increases the risk of heart disease because its high calorie content increases the likelihood of obesity.

Diets high in fat, especially saturated fat, affect the way your child's body responds to sugar, and increases the risk of type 2 diabetes. Their bodies can cope with a relatively small intake of excess fats, however, if your child gets more than 35 per cent of his calories from fat, he's eating too much. Conversely, any less may not do him any favours either. A 2004 study found that youngsters who ate moderate amounts of any type of fat - 30 to 35 per cent of total calories-weighed less than those who ate either more or less.

Ultimately, a good healthy diet, with some dairy produce (including some butter and cheese), meat, vegetables, poultry, fish, fruits, vegetables and a good source of carbohydrates will never include too much fat. It's the junk food and the convenience foods - which tend to be very high in saturated fats (and trans fats) - that tip the scale and make a diet unhealthy. It's also worth noting that if fats - even saturated fats - are eaten with plenty of fruits and vegetables, their impact is not as dangerous. The reason for this is that fruits and vegetables contain 'antioxidants', which limit the damage that fat has on your child's body. That's just one reason why a balanced diet is so important.

So the occasional ice cream, bit of butter on your child's morning toast or a cheese sandwich is not going to cause problems, even if they do contain saturated fats.
Fats that are OK to eat more often

Polyunsaturated fats
These form the basis of a group of fats known as 'essential fatty acids', and the reason they are called 'essential' is because your child cannot do without them - and neither can you. The problem is that these fatty acids are in short supply in the average Western diet, and in even shorter supply in our children's diets, as they are found mainly in vegetable and fish oils and oily fish. As an essential fatty acid, polyunsaturates have lots of important roles: they help to lower blood cholesterol if they are used in the place of saturated fats, they also help to keep the blood thin, relax blood vessels, lower blood pressure, help maintain the water balance in the body, decrease inflammation and pain, improve nerve function, maintain immunity, affect your child's brain function and metabolism, and balance blood sugar - everything your child needs to contribute to good short- and long-term health. And in the fight against obesity, some of these roles are crucial. Oily fish, such as salmon, sardines, tuna, mackerel and herring, are good sources. So too are seeds and plant and seed oils. The best are hemp, linseed, safflower, sunflower, corn, pumpkin, walnut, sesame, soya and wheatgerm.

Polyunsaturated oils are healthy unless they are heated, at which point they become unstable and decidedly unhealthy. This is an important consideration. Many people think that using vegetable oils in cooking will add to their children's intake of healthy oils.lt won't if it's been heated; in this case it will become a health hazard Only 'raw' oils are good sources of key nutrients. The best way to increase polyunsaturates is to add lots of oily fish (you can at least try!) and seeds to your child's diet.

Monounsaturated fats
Sources of monounsaturated fats include olive oil, avocados, nuts, seeds and rapeseed oil. Monounsaturated fats are among the healthiest fats, as they are believed not only to lower levels of bad cholesterol, but to boost levels of good cholesterol. They are believed to be one of the main factors in the well-publicized healthinessoi the Mediterranean diet, which is linked to increased longevity, reduced risk of cancer and a lower incidence of heart disease and obesity. Incorporate them into your child's diet from an early age-choose olive oil for cooking (it's more stable than a polyunsaturated oil) and offer olives and avocados regularly.

Ground nuts and seeds can be incorporated in your child's diet from the age of about three. It's worth including these elements in a child's diet from a young age, as they can play an important role in maintaining health.

In a nutshell
- The healthiest fats are the naturally occurring non-animal fats that have not been chemically altered. These include polyunsaturated fats (in vegetables oils, fish oils and seeds and seed oils) and monounsaturated fats (found in nuts, olive oil and avocados).
- Saturated fats are OK in small quantities, but are best eaten as natural, largely unprocessed foods (yogurt, milk, butter, cheese and meat) and with fruit and vegetables, which can help to prevent damaging effects. Crisps, baked goods, confectionery, chips and fried foods will contribute too much fat to your child's diet, which is when it becomes unhealthy.
- The unhealthiest fats are any fat or oil from any source that has been hydrogenated, partially hydrogenated, or in any way chemically altered. Avoid these as much as possible.

Luckily, product labelling has made it much easier for us to assess the level of saturated fats in the foods we serve ourselves and our children. That's not to say that we need to read the labels on every single thing we eat. Look at a few products from the supermarket shelves or your cupboard at home to get an idea of the types of products that are high in saturated fats. Fried foods, mayonnaise, pizza, burgers, many baked goods such as cakes and biscuits, and cooked meats such as salami, are all high in saturated fats. These types of processed sources of saturated fat need to be kept to a minimum.

Will avocado help get rid of dry hair?

I heard somewhere that avocado and egg yolk both help get rid of dry hair. Which is better? I dont have mayonnaise to mix with the avocado, only a plain avocado and plain eggs.

According to a hairdresser of the celebrities, he once advice that 'keep food in your mouth and hair products on your hair.'

So, my answer is NO.

If you stay on YA HAIR for half an hour a day, you'll read what others are saying why those DON'T WORK on their dry or damaged hair.

You need to find out what is causing your hair to be on the dry side. I think you already know the answer to that. My suggestion is to stop doing it and let your hair grow naturally.

Healthy hair can be grown down to your feet. If you love your hair, you wouldn't be abusing it. Because we are all blessed with healthy hair.

Acne Prevention - Lifestyle and Diets

Lifestyle

Is your lifestyle causing your acne? Certainly not. But the way you live affects your whole body, including its largest organ: the skin. The place you work, the hours you keep, the ways you play — all of these can take a toll on the epidermis, especially in those who are prone to acne. Following are a few everyday acne triggers you might not be aware of, and a few things you can do to avoid them.

Comedones on the job. Since some part of your skin is always in contact with your environment, it's important to pay attention to the substances with which you come into contact on a regular basis. You may be exposing yourself to comedogenic (pore-clogging) substances on the job without even knowing it; while these substances are not the cause of your acne, they can aggravate it. For example: the airborne grease in a fast-food restaurant can create an invisible film on your skin, clogging your pores. Most industrial oils — the kinds used in cars, in factories, on bicycles — are comedogenic as well.

Acne & Sleep - Sleep and your skin. The simplest good deed you can do for your skin may surprise you: sleep! Scientists and mothers around the world agree that a good night's sleep — at least eight hours — can do wonders for your complexion. How? A healthy, well-rested body has the resources to build a strong immune system. While a robust immune system won't prevent acne altogether, it can help fight infection so your lesions clear up more quickly. Luckily, your body isn't picky; uninterrupted sleep in the daytime is just as beneficial. So if you work late, sleep late — and try to maintain a regular schedule.

Acne & Sun - Savvy sun worshipping. While it's true that small amounts of sun exposure may initially improve acne, don't be fooled; the benefit is temporary. Consistent sun bathing will dry your skin, causing your sebaceous glands to produce more oil. Also, skin that has been exposed to the sun has to slough old cells more frequently; when you combine the extra oil and extra dead cells, you create the ideal environment for comedones, or blocked pores. So if you work (or play) in the sun, it's important to protect your skin with sunscreen. Look for oil-free products that provide at least an SPF 15 protection level from UVA and UVB rays.

Acne & Stress - The stress connection. Not surprisingly, stress often has a starring role in the ongoing acne drama. "Ninety percent of my patients complain about what stress does to their skin. It has a huge impact, and it's becoming a bigger problem every day," says Katie Rodan, MD, a clinical professor of dermatology at Stanford University.

How can stress — emotional anxiety caused by any number of factors in your life — show up on your face? The connection is purely chemical. When you become tense, your adrenal glands go work, flooding your bloodstream with the hormone cortisol. This triggers the sweat glands in your face to produce more oil. When your sebaceous glands go into high gear, there's a higher probability that this excess oil will mix with dead skin cells and clog your pores, trapping bacteria inside. The result? More acne, primarily inflamed papules rather than blackheads or whiteheads.

What can you do? Of course, you can't eliminate stress from your life — it's part of being human. But you can minimize its damage by leading a healthy lifestyle. A balanced diet and at least seven hours of sleep every night will help you build a stronger physical foundation; if you're well fed and well rested, you're less likely to feel irritated by the events of your day. Try to get some exercise every day, even if it's just a walk around the block at lunchtime. It's also important to take time out of every day to relax — read a book, take a bath, practice yoga, or do whatever makes you feel happy and calm. It's an important step towards overall good health, and therefore the health of your skin.

Diets

Don't eat that — you'll get zits! We've all heard it; from parents, friends or even the family doctor. But the fact is, even after extensive study, scientists have not found a connection between diet and acne. Not chocolate. Not french fries. Not pizza.

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, "A healthy diet is important for improving raw materials for healthy skin," but they also note that greasy or sugary foods do not cause acne.1 Likewise, a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association concurred, "Diet plays no role in acne treatment in most patients...even large amounts of certain foods have not clinically exacerbated acne."1 Of course, that doesn't mean you should make a habit of eating foods high in sugar or fat. The skin is the body's largest organ, so what's good for the rest of you will be good for your skin, too.

Acne Prevention & Diet - Nutrients for healthy skin. There are a number of nutrients found in everyday foods that are known to promote a healthy body — and therefore healthy skin. Get wise to these substances, and you'll increase your chances of conquering your acne.

Acne Prevention & Diet - Vitamin A. Naturally occurring Vitamin A, or retinol, is found in fish oils, liver and dairy products. The Vitamin A produced by plants is known as Beta-carotene, and is found in yellow/orange fruits and vegetable such as carrots, yams, apricots and cantaloupe, as well as green vegetables like parsley, kale and spinach. Extremely high doses of Vitamin A are toxic, so don't overdo it.

Acne Prevention & Diet - Vitamin B-2. Stress has been known to aggravate existing cases of acne, and Vitamin B-2 is often helpful alleviating stress. Foods with a high concentration of B-2 include whole grains, fish, milk, eggs, meat and leafy green vegetables.

Acne Prevention & Diet - Vitamin B-3. Found in peanuts, eggs, avocados, liver and lean meats, Vitamin B-3 improves circulation, promoting healthy skin. It also reduces the cholesterol level in the blood and helps you metabolize protein, sugar & fat — increasing your energy through proper utilization of food.

Acne Prevention & Diet - Vitamin E. Vitamin E is found in almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds, broccoli, wheat germ and vegetable oils. A powerful antioxidant, it protects your cells against the effects of free radicals, which are potentially damaging by-products of the body's metabolism.

Acne Prevention & Diet - Zinc. Even in trace amounts, the antioxidant zinc is known to boost the immune system, improving overall health — which of course is reflected in the skin. Zinc can be found in eggs, whole grains, nuts and mushrooms.

Acne Prevention & Diet - Know your own triggers. Since acne is different for everyone, there may be certain foods that cause flare-ups in your skin. Clearly, these foods should be avoided. You may also want to check your vitamin supplements for their iodine content; while normal amounts of iodine have not been shown to affect skin, amounts greater than the RDA of 150 mcg may aggravate your acne.

Overall, use your common sense. Drink lots of water and eat a healthy, balanced diet — but don't be afraid to indulge your cravings every now and then.

Does anyone here eat strange combinations of food, and if so, what are they?

Here are some of mine...

Banana and cheddar cheese sandwiches
Jam and cheddar cheese sandwiches
Peanut butter and honey sandwiches
Lemon curd and mango chutney sandwiches
Mayonnaise or French dressing eaten out of an avocado
Pork pies and horseradish
Grapes and stilton
Pilchards and vinegar on toast
Brie on toast with peanuts pushed into it

They all sound disgusting but try them and you'll have the gustatory equivalent of a smack hit.

Every one gives me funny looks when I eat my eggs (over medium), rice and Portuguese Sausage with ketchup. I think It's good, but most say it looks gross.
These aren't strange here in Hawaii, but my family on the mainland thinks they are:
Green Mangoes with pepper, vinegar and shoyu (soy sauce).
Japanese rice crackers (Arare), pop corn and Li Hing Mui (a dried pickled Chinese plum) powder.
Spam Musubi; a slice of fried Spam on top of a rice ball, wrapped with nori (dried seaweed).

How To Use The Gen 1:29 Diet For A Safe Weight Loss (Part 2)

In continuation of part one of this article, listed below will be the list of other common items that should form the basis of a proper diet for a safe weight-loss regimen. Combined with proper exercise and mental attunements, these substances will make the drugless foundation for a quick and safe weight loss, naturally and without the dangerous and unnecessary side-effects of modern day concoctions and diet fads.

Moreover, you will experience improved health, delayed aging, increased flexibility, clearer skin, brighter eyes and mental sharpness to name a few of its many benefits.

These are the rest of the foods for a healthy diet when aiming for a safe weight loss as suggested in the first part of this article.

Safe Weight Loss Diet: Items for Consumption (D-T)

9. Dates:

NATURAL CANDY! They are loaded with tons of nutrients unlike their artificial counterfeits: candies in the store, but like them have to be eaten in moderation say 4-5 in the spring and summer times and 5-15 (medium sized ones) fall and winter times.

Try to eat dates 12 minutes or so after a mono meal of a sweet fruit say bananas or mangoes and 10 minutes before a stalk of Celery or lettuce. Barhi or honey dates are my personal favorites. According to Dr. Arnold Ehret they are excellent mucus absorbers as well. They are great sources of quick energy and surprisingly, proteins.

10. Figs:

When in season, these one of a kind fruits are powerfully cleansing and rank very high as detoxifying and body building elements. Buy them only in season (summer times) it's the favorite of African Chimpanzees.

11. Grapes:

They are great sources of powerful antioxidants. Ensure to eat them organically and in season only (summer). Also try to get the seeded ones. They are one of the best foods to break a fast with. Dried, they make your raisins.

12. Lemons:

This is about the only non-sweet fruit that I personally include in my diet. It has ascorbic properties and when squeezed fresh in warm water first thing in the morning can be unrivaled in beating constipation and alleviating overall lethargy. It is one of the most alkaline forming foods in spite of its acidic taste and it's available year round.

12. Lettuce:

The king of Vegetables. Even plain, they have an excellent taste to them. They are highly perishable though and thus need to be consumed soon after purchase. It is the basis of many a salad and is a great body building food. Mountain gorillas of the Plateau regions of Nigeria and Cameroon subsists primarily on leaves and look at how big and strong they are (of course that's all they have access too in their habitats and they are much less active than the lowland gorillas of the south of these two African countries who eat mostly sweet fruits and a few leaves)

13. Maple Syrup:

Native to the First Americans, this food is a balanced form of positive and negative sugars. There are three grades of maple syrup A, B and C. My recommended grade is B. It contains sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, iron, copper and silicon. Some uninformed operators of the sugaring of maple syrup do use formaldehyde pellets ran through polyethene tubing so ensure to use only organic maple syrup.

14. Mangoes:

As great as this fruit is, eat in moderation though and if you can organically grown and only in season. 4-5 should fill the average person up, but hey if they are too tempting it doesn't hurt to enjoy.

15. Melons:

As a rule Eat melons alone or leave alone. They are one of the fruits that leave the stomach almost as soon as they are ingested and thus should not be combined with other foods, if you must, wait 20 minutes or so and eat Celery or Lettuce. I'm of the firm belief that in the summer times when they peak, a human can subsist on them for days on end. Ensure to get them ripe and enjoy as you desire. I've tried a watermelon fast to very rewarding results.

16. Nectarines:

Like its close relative, peaches, these stone fruits are excellent in the summer times when they are available and a mono meal of them for a restricted diet can be a camouflaged fast.

17. Pears:

A viable winter fruit. It is a sub acid fruit like the apple and is of course loaded with vitamins and minerals. Ensure to eat this fruit only when fully ripe.

18. Pineapples:

Look for varieties ripened on the leaves. I've not (as of this writing at least) been to Hawaii to taste their crop but, I've had the pleasures of them in Nigeria, they are simply great. Being an acidic fruit, ensure to consume them in the earlier part of the day.

19. Plantains:

At times known as the potatoes of the air, the varieties grown in Ecuador or the tropical countries are great. They form the staple of many so-called third world countries and can be enjoyed alone or with some plain raw leaves of parsley, lettuce or celery.

20. Potatoes:

Some authors have attacked potatoes as being unsuitable for human consumption. Though not the best food, nothing could be further from the truth though. I've read and have been in tribes who subsist on root vegetables only; its cousin the sweet potato actually ranks high as an alkaline forming food. In my estimation, boiled and mashed with avocadoes and a dash of sea salt after eating some celery, they are a welcome balance to even excessive sweet fruits and are very nourishing as well. They are also easy to digest and are better than even some so-called raw recipes. They of course are available year round.

21. Tomatoes:

Like the potato, it is a member of the nightshade family but unlike it, the tomato is a fruit botanically. Blended with Young Coconuts or Avocadoes, they are excellent for dressing. They are an acidic fruit thus should be eaten in moderation due to their high content of oxalic acids, 2 -3 should suffice and even then every other day.

As a rule ensure that all of the above (save for maybe mangoes and avocadoes) are grown organically only.

Better health and a safe weight loss need not be things you have to pay an extreme amount of money for. You really don't need any special recipes, worthless and hazardous substances when trying to lose weight. By simply consuming the divinely ordained foods listed above and of course living an active lifestyle, you will be well on your way to a healthy, effective and safe weight loss that your body will appreciate for years to come.

(3 John 1:2 NIV) Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

Good Health is your birthright.

When should you pick avocados?

I have an avocado tree in my back yard. I picked an avocado about 3 or 4 days ago and it's still hard. There are several on the tree but I don't know if they're in season. I live in Southern California.

Pick then when they are slightly soft and very juicy. If you pick them and they are not ripe, leave them on a window sill until they get soft.

How To Pick Betting Sites And Shopping

Oh, sure you can find a place online where you can place your bets. There are lots of betting sites out there. There are thousands of them. Does that mean that any one of them will do for you? Hopefully not!

Think about it for a minute or two. Would you go to the supermarket, reach into the pile of avocadoes and grab any old one of them to take home with you? You could quite possibly grab the oldest, most bruised avocado of the lot and that is what you would then have to eat once you got home.

Would you ever (in a million years) go to the land broker's office to buy a new home and pick it out by whichever one first comes up first when you look at the listings? You certainly would not choose your home this way. That is just crazy!

A Better Way

Well, if you are still finding betting sites online by just clicking on whatever comes up first in any old search, then you could be choosing as badly as the avocado incident! All betting sites are not alike and are most definitely not interchangeable with one another.

So, what in the world is the best way to find your betting sites then? Well, let's go back to the avocado again for just a moment. If you wanted to find a nice one at the green grocer's stand or the supermarket, you would have to look at more than one of them. You might pick up and look at and feel a few of them before you make your choice as to THE one that will become dinner. You want an avocado that is not too soft and not too firm. Okay, so food aside - betting sites are rather the same in how you choose them.

You should touch and feel your betting sites! This means trying them out for yourself so that you can judge what you think of them. The best way to find the ones worth trying out is to visit online websites. This website's entire purpose is to bring you listings of betting sites that have free bets on offer for you to try. Betting sites that bring you the best features and the most betting venues there are available are listed for you.

First isn't Always Best

You don't need to just click on whatever comes up first in your search anymore! Reserve your clicking for a more streamlined search for your betting sites. Stop eating the worst avocado of the lot and stop visiting betting sites that aren't what you want! Take advantage of free bets on offer from these solid betting sites so you can start narrowing your search down to some good choices without wasting all your time following bad links and false offers!

At some point, you will have to admit that you are worth eating the best avocado and doing some online betting at the best betting sites. Take the leap and crank your standards up a notch. You just might find out you really like guacamole after all and that there really are great betting sites just waiting for you!

Many of the expensive acne treatment masks are essentially made up of ingredients that are actually easy to find such as honey, oatmeal, mint, avocado and wheat germ.
3. Fresh garlic - This is another ideal home acne treatment that may work for some people since garlic is essentially a great anti-septic. Just rub a few pounded garlic cloves around the affected areas and keep for fifteen minute, then wash off. Take note that there may be a slight sting when applying to the affected areas using this home acne treatment method.

4. Tea bags and basil leaves - Using a simple mixture of two or three tea bags and basil mixed together in hot water for ten minutes may be applied over the affected areas using a cotton ball, a easy yet quite effective home acne treatment solution.

These are but a few of the home acne treatment methods that may work for some individuals and are indeed quite effective. Take into consideration the severity of your condition as this may require the expertise of a professional skin specialist and that home acne treatment remedies work for all people. If home acne treatment does not work for you, do not leave off going to your dermatologist and get the acne treatment from them. If having tried the methods for home acne treatment and does not yield any positive results then consultation with a dermatologist is obviously the next recourse as there may be specific medication needed for your condition.

Do away with pop tarts next time and have a couple of hard-boiled eggs.

I have no idea how old you are or how big you are. 1200 is on the low side of the minimum calorie intake. Otherwise, your metabolism can actually slow down.

I would eat some fish (can be tuna), chicken or turkey. Cheese, yogurt, milk.

Keep drinking more liquid. Instead of the Super Dieter's Tea, drink some water with sliced lemon.

Diet Tips

To effectively lose weight you must eat a healthy and balanced diet. Fad diets, pills, and other gimmicks are not effective or healthy. While these products usually produce short term results, they have more side effects than benefits.

Here is a simple breakdown.

Carbohydrates should be 60% of your daily diet

Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of energy. You must consume enough carbohydrates daily to remain healthy. Restricting your calories with low-carbohydrate diets decreases your energy.

Types of Carbohydrates

Simple carbohydrates like (sugars, including glucose and fructose from fruit and vegetables, lactose from milk, and sucrose from cane or beet sugar)

Complex carbohydrates like (carrots, broccoli, corn, potatoes, bread, cereal, pasta, rice, and beans) which contain glucose, fiber, and other nutrients.

Fat should be 30% of your daily diet

Fat adds flavor to food, and is an important component of a healthy diet. Fat is necessary for energy production, transporting fat soluble vitamins, protection of internal organs, insulation, healthy skin, hair, and supplying the linoleic acid[1].

Types of fat

1. Triglycerides are the chemical form in which most fat exists in food as well as in the body. They're also present in blood plasma and, in association with cholesterol, form the plasma lipids.

2. Saturated fats come primarily from animal sources:

EXAMPLES

Butter, whole milk, dairy products, and meats.

Coconut and palm oils are also high in saturated fat. Saturated fat raises cholesterol[2] levels more than any element in your diet. Less than 10% of your daily calories should come from saturated fat sources.

3. Unsaturated fats can be either monounsaturated or polyunsaturated.

Monounsaturated fats. This type of fat can reduce LDL cholesterol without affecting beneficial HDL’s. This is the preferred form of fat in a diet.

Examples include olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, and avocado oil.

Polyunsaturated Fats are divided into omega-6 vegetable oils and omega-3 fish oils.

Examples include sunflower, corn, and sesame. The omega-3 oils come from fish like mackerel, halibut, salmon, albacore tuna, and whitefish.

Benefits of Omega-3 oils are decreased blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood clotting.

THE PROBLEM:

Most people eat almost twice as much fat as the human body is designed to handle. 36% to 41% of total daily calories often come from fat.

Protein should be 10% of your daily diet

Protein builds and repairs muscle, red blood cells, hair, and other tissues. Protein is also necessary for the synthesizing hormones.

Examples from plants include: Fruits, grains, and vegetables.

Examples from legumes include: Dried beans or tofu with rice or bread.

Meat is a good source of protein, but too much may lead to high cholesterol.

Here are some less fatty cuts of meat

Beef…………….Top round, eye of round, round steak, rump roast, sirloin tip, short lion, strip steak lean, lean and extra lean ground beef.

Pork……………Tenderloin, sirloin roast or chop, center cut loin chops

Lamb………… Foreshank, leg roast, leg chop, loin chop

HOW TO PLAN A DIET

STEP 1

DETERMINE YOU’RE EATING PATTERNS

Take a few days to record what you are eating and drinking, being specific as possible. Logging your diet will give you an idea of what and when you are eating. Tracking your diet is important in determining the changes needed.

Visit www.thebrim.com/fitness and use the calorie counter to determine the breakdown of calories for most foods. Enter the name of the food into the box and press enter.

Analyze your log sheet and determine how many calories you consume daily. Calorie intake needs will differ for each individual. Many people mistakenly eat too few calories. Consuming under 1200-calories for women and 1800-calories for men is severely low.

Typically it is best to eat about 500-1000-calories less a day than your total calories burned.

(See Chapter 1: Harris Benedict Equations)

After you determine an estimate of your calorie intake, use the chart below to determine the breakdown where your calories should come from.

STEP 2

PLAN AND MAKE CHANGES TO YOU’RE DIET.

If you are not eating enough, increase your calorie intake. Women and men should eat at least 1200 and 1800 calories a day respectively. Severely restricting calories will result in an eventual weight gain or lack of energy. If you are restricting your calories, start eating more immediately. If you are eating too much start by cutting your portion sizes.

Tips to control Portion size

Decrease your portions by half

You can lose weight and still enjoy your favorite foods. Just decrease your portion sizes by half. Take your typical dinner serving and decrease it by half. Try supplementing your meal with fresh fruit or vegetables on the side. After you eat, wait a few minutes to allow yourself to feel full. You will probably notice you don’t feel the urge to eat as much.

Don’t eat a three-course meal at restaurants

When dining out, watch how much you are eating. Most restaurants serve huge portions for the main course. Eating an appetizer, main course, and desert is too much food. Many restaurants offer lunch size portions of their dishes, which are smaller than their full-size dinner entrees. In most restaurants you can purchase the lunch size entree at dinnertime. Ordering from the lunch menu helps with portion control.

Don’t biggie-size anything

Fast food portions are normally too large. Upsizing meals give you extra food you don’t need. If you decide to eat fast food (which should be rare), order the regular size.

Start Reading Labels

Look carefully at the serving size for your food. Find out how many servings you are actually consuming. You will soon know how to measure a serving size simply by looking at the food.

· NO BUFFETS!!!

It is nearly impossible to practice portion control in an "all-you-can-eat" situation. Many individuals mistakenly eat as much as possible in a buffet. This is not good for someone on a diet.

Learn the standards:

3 oz. of meat is the size of a deck of cards or an audio tape; 1 oz. of meat is the size of a matchbook; 1 cup of potatoes, rice, or pasta looks like a tennis ball.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[1] Linoleic acid is a member of the group of essential fatty acids called omega-6 fatty acids, so called because they are an essential dietary requirement for all mammals.

[2] Cholesterol

Cholesterol is a building block of cells, vitamins, and hormones in the body. The human body makes cholesterol in all cells of the body and also gets cholesterol from some foods in the diet. It is transported in the bloodstream to other cells or for elimination by the body.

Cholesterol is a solid fat carried in blood by lipoproteins and deposited in the walls of arteries which therefore narrow and when they block completely cause heart attacks and strokes.

I had no idea that avocado was considered toxic to dogs and I have my 4lb Yorkie a little slice (maybe a teaspoon) of the fruit (no seeds/pit). That was about 4 hours ago and he seems fine...maybe a bit lethargic, though. Is this ok? Has anyone had any problems after feeding their dog avocado? I am sure my vet will just say keep an eye on him...

It's the pit that is highly toxic.

Make Feeding Your Macaw Easy Top Suggestions

Your pet bird can eat to much of the wrong things just as you can. Feeding your parrot doesn't have to be confusing.

Your birds diet just as your own diet should consist of many different foods and many should be used in moderation. Feeding your macaw or parrot a variety of fresh wholesome unprocessed foods should do the trick. Raw and cooked included.

I use a good high quality commercial parrot mixture in my birds cage at all times. I change it out every morning with a fresher helping. Everything else I feed I consider to be treats or supplemental. I don't feed treats until I notice my bird has been into the pellet mixture. My B & G macaw can be stubborn, occasionally he won't eat any mixture until we have had our morning workout eventually he will eat.

Nuts and sunflower seeds I consider to be treats. I feed them sparingly one at a time. Generally as rewards for this that or another thing and once in a while because I'm a nice guy. Macaws need a little more fat, nuts and sunflower seeds are how my bird gets his.

Fresh, frozen vegetables, green, yellow, white and red are good for your bird. Don't feed your bird anything coming from a can. Canned goods are not all that good for humans. They are full of chemical preservatives. This includes packaged meals, t.v. dinners etc.

High on my veggie list are carrots, brocoli, lettuce, cauliflower, bell peppers, even a raw jalepeno on occasion, sweet potatoe and potatoe because I eat these foods myself. Feed them raw and cooked. Rice, beans, peas should all be cooked thoroughly.

Once or maybe twice a week my bird will be given a piece of well cooked chicken or turkey but never with any added oils. Macaws have been known to add flesh to their diets in the wild. So I do so once or twice a week.

Fruits are excellent for birds. I don't feed citrus. I don't eat it myself. I however eat apples, bananas, fresh peaches, cherries and grapes. My parrot does too. Also I never give my bird the skins or seeds from apples, peaches. Only a sliver of the fleshy parts from a fruit I intend to eat myself. Make certain all small fruits like cherries, grapes, etc are well washed before feeding.

Some things you should avoid feeding your pet bird.

1.Chips, candies: Should be avoided due to the salt, cooking oils, refined sugar.

2.Caffeine

3.Avocados: Some have been found to be toxic, primarily the skins and pits.

4.Salt

5.Mushrooms: Some may be toxic to birds.

6.Raw peanuts: Can harbor a fungus, feed only roasted and unsalted.

7.Chocolate: Chocolate is toxic to dogs don't feed it to your pet bird.

8.Milk other dairy: Never saw a bird milk a cow and some humans can't consume milk. Birds don't digest dairy.

My rule is. If I know that eating a certain food calls for moderation. That I should avoid eating a certain food altogether like fried foods, sweets. Then when thinking about the size difference between myself and my pet bird it becomes a bit obvious that I should avoid feeding those foods to my pet. Your goal should be to feed only well washed organic cooked and raw food. For your pet birds variety is certainly the spice of life.
