I was wondering what cantaloupe and avocado have in common because I, too, have similar stomach problems with those two foods. It started a few years ago when I noticed several times in a row that I would get a bad stomach ache after eating cantaloupe. (Very disappointing because I *love* cantaloupe.) Within the past year I seem to have developed the same issue with avocados. What’s the common factor?

I love avocados. When I first went to live on La Palma in the Canary Islands, I was hoping avocados would be cheaper than in Britain. (This was 1990, and avocados were still a luxury). Imagine my disappointment when I got to the local market and found they were pretty much the same price as England. Imagine my delight when I learned that was the price for a kilo, not one avocado!

I have the exact same symptoms along with a headache and stomach upset. I was going to get the spot on my forearm checked out. Headaches are severe and debelitating. Happens after I eat avocados..slight swelling of the tongue andlight headedness.. Could this be Avocado allergies???
